Page from the Diary of Robert Graves |
The University of Victoria was awarded a two-year SSHRC grant to publish Robert Graves' diary as an online website and as a hard copy text. Elizabeth Grove-White (Department of English) is the general literary editor, Chris Petter (Special Collections Librarian) the textual editor and project manager, and Martin Holmes (Humanities Computing) is the eXist consultant. |
| The project was completed between October 2004 and July 2006. The website for the diary was created on June 15, 2005. | |
| Robert Graves Diary, 1935-1939 | |
| Available here is a protype eXist database with the annotated, transcribed text and facsimile for 1935 and the whole searchable text and images for 1936-39 (except for enclosures). There will also be abstracts added for navigation (now available only to August 1936). We are also hoping to add photographs and other primary material for the years covered by the diary. | |
| Robert Graves Pilot Projects | |
| There is an earlier out-of date transcription and facsimile of the diary and a still earlier pilot project by Undine Bruckner and Martin Holmes which explains the technology investigated by the project. | |
