What Is Interlibrary Loan? Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service that enables UVic students, faculty, and staff to obtain material not owned by the University of Victoria Libraries from another library. The service is free, although there are certain limits.
How Long Does It Take? Normally it will take 1-5 days. During the peak periods of October/November and February/March it may take 5-12 days or longer for material that is difficult to locate, so it is important to start your research early! Borrowers are notified by email when journal articles and books or other returnable items have arrived.
Where Do I Pick Up My Interlibrary Loans? The default for articles is Post-to-web. Print articles may be picked up from the Self-Serve Baskets beside the Loan Desk. Books and returnables are picked up at the Loan Desk.
Can I Track My Interlibrary Loans? Yes, here is some help in interpreting the status of a request. |
