Ways to Support UVic Libraries
|
There are many ways to support the UVic Libraries and experience the rewards of philanthropy while receiving tax benefits. The Library Development Office can assist donors in exploring the best options for their financial and family situation. Direct contributions An outright gift of cash can be made by cheque or credit card. Donors may decide to make their contribution in a single payment or spread the payments over a few years. You can make a gift to the library online through the university's secure site. Named endowments Endowments are vital to future success of the UVic Libraries. As the largest research library on Vancouver Island, the collections are of local, provincial and national importance. Endowments secure the UVic Libraries' capacity to build, catalogue and care for these unique collections. Establish or support a named endowment in the subject areas of your choice with a gift. Honour with books The Honour with Books program is a lasting and meaningful way to mark a milestone in your life or the lives of your loved ones, or to commemorate a special person. Bequests Donors who name the UVic Libraries as a beneficiary in their will are often able to contribute at a higher level than they thought possible. Donors can leave a specific amount of money, a percentage of their estate, the "residue" of their estate or specific assets to the library. A planned gift is a lasting gift that supports students, faculty and researchers for generations to come. Gifts in Kind A gift in kind to the libraries can include books, unique and rare documents, special equipment or other tangible property. Securities, RRSPs or RRIFs, Charitable Remainder Trusts or Annuities Any of these can be means of philanthropic support. Contact the Library Development Office to explore what is right for you.
